Mangaluru: ‘Bunta Siri’, Kala Vaibhava 2015 Invitation Released

Mangaluru: The releasing ceremony of the “Bunta Siri”, Kala Vaibhava 2015 Cultural Programme invitation was held at Hotel Kudla, Balmatta here on February 4.

Addressing the mediapersons chairman of the International Bunts Welfare Trust (R), Sadananda Shetty said that the trust has been formed with several major objectives including overall development of not only the Bunt community but people of all communities. The trust will be inaugurated at the TMA Pai international Convention centre on Saturday 7, February at 9:00am. Chancellor of Nitte University Dr N V Hegde will inaugurate the trust.

On this occasion the website of the trust will be launched by veteran writer Erya Lakshminarayana Alva. Among other objectives of the trust are to ensure food, clothing, shelter and education to all to help in the empowerment of Bunt women, encourage Bunt youth to come forward in social religious, cultural and political fields, to promote bunt culture and tradition and also to patronize agriculture. The trust also intends to hold several programme for the welfare of the differently abled and senior citizens.

Veteran writer and Kannada activist Nadoja Kayyara Kinhanna Rai who has completed hundred fruitful years will be offered “Nudinamana”, on the occasion. As part of the inaugural a variety cultural event “Bunta Siri”, Kala Vaibhava 2015 will be held from 9:00am to 9:30pm.

Addressing the gathering Navneeth Shetty said that the programme will showcase the Bunt culture, tradition, way of life and the way of dressing. Mr Bunt and Ms Bunt contest will be held to encourage the community youth to take part in the programme. The selection of the Mr Bunt and Ms Bunt will start from February 5. There is also a contest for the best couple, “Bhale Jodi” and Namma Yajamanru. The best couple with traditional dress will be awarded on February 7. Yakshagana Bayalata and musical nite by Gurukiran will be an added attraction.

The ‘Mr McCoy World Bunt 2013″ title winner Sahil Rai, will judge the Mr Bunt and Ms Bunt contest.

Devicharan Shetty, Ramachandra Shetty, K Ravindra Shetty, Shashidhar Shetty, Vasant Kumar Shetty, Chittaranjan Shetty, Bhasker Shetty Kukkuvalli, Pradeep Alva and others were present on the occasion.
