Mangaluru: Divisional Railway Felicitates 21st Asian Athletic Championship Gold Medalist Tintu Luka

Mangaluru: Palakkad Division honoured Tintu Luka, Arjuna Award winner and Olympian, who won Gold medal for the nation in the 21st Asian Athletic Championship held at Wuhan, China. The athlete won her first international gold medal in 800 metres. She was also a member of the Indian womens 4 x 400 relay team which won the Silver medal in the Championship. She is working as Enquiry and Reservation Supervisor at Kozhikkode. She was accompanied by Olympian Dr P T Usha, who is her coach, mentor and a constant source of inspiration.

Anand Prakash, Divisional Railway Manager who honoured Tintu Luka in a formal function held at the Railway Divisional Office, Palakkad, wished her all success in future championships and assured all support from the Railway administration. Also present on the occasion were Mohan A Menon, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, S Jayakrishnan, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (Traction Department) and Secretary, Southern Railway Sports Association, Palakkad Division and Preeja Sreedharan, Olympian.

Office bearers of Southern Railway Sports Association of the Division, Railway officers and staff of the Division also attended the function.
