Mangaluru: Illegal Cattle Transport Ring Busted; Four Cattle Rescued, Suspects at Large
Mangaluru: In a predawn operation, police successfully intercepted an illegal cattle transport operation, rescuing four animals subjected to inhumane conditions. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Bajpe Police Station, prompting an intensive investigation into the identities and whereabouts of the fleeing suspects.

Law enforcement officials reported that the operation unfolded at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, near the Sri Bhoothanatheshwara Temple in Badaga Yedapadavu village. Acting on actionable intelligence provided by members of the Bajrang Dal, police intercepted a vehicle suspected of illicit activities.
Upon inspecting the vehicle, authorities discovered four head of cattle confined under cruel and unsanitary conditions, indicative of illegal transport. As police moved to apprehend the occupants, the accused individuals abandoned the vehicle and escaped under the cover of darkness.
A subsequent search of the abandoned Toyota Fortuner revealed a dangerous weapon, further compounding the severity of the crime. Authorities seized the vehicle and its contents as evidence.

A district-wide manhunt has been initiated to locate and apprehend the absconding suspects. The Bajpe Police registered a formal case, and a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the illegal operation, identify all involved individuals, and bring them to justice.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal cattle transport and ensuring the humane treatment of animals within the region.
