Speaking to mangalorean.com, Khader Shah said that Co-optex is a famous name in textiles which gives quality products to its customers. Co-optex has been instrumental in promotinghandloom weavers and it is consumer friendly. It sells the products directly to the buyers from the weavers. He urged the people of Mangaluru to visit the exhibition and purchase the products from Co-optex.
Senior Regional Manager M Parthasarathi said that the Tamil Nadu Handloom weavers society, popularly known as Co-optex, has been instrumental in promoting handloom weaving craft in Tamil Nadu since 1935. Co-optex has over 2.5 lakh registered weavers and 200 showrooms across India.
He also said that Co-optex has recently introduced eco-friendly sarees by undertaking the production of organic cotton sarees dyed with natural/vegetable colours. The cotton used for the production of these sarees is being cultivated without using fertilizers/pesticides for a minimum period of three years. The cotton when dyed with chemical free natural/vegetable colours, gives a product that would be virtually non-toxic, non-allergic, and environment friendly.
The government of Tamil Nadu has extended 30% rebate on silk and cotton hand-loom varieties and 20% on powerloom varieties for the ensuing Dasara/Deepavali festival. Under the Bangarada Male scheme, customers who purchase cloth by paying cash will be issued a prize coupon for every Rs 2000. The customer has to tick the correct answer in the coupon and then they have to write a slogan. The best slogan will be selected by a panel of judges. Gold coins will be awarded to 40 customers winning the contest. The scheme is valid till January 1, 2016.
