Mangaluru: Medical Student Loses Rs 14,000 in Fraudulent Internet Bank Withdrawal

Mangaluru: A city-based medical student from Bengaluru has filed a complaint at the Pandeshwar police station regarding a fraud through the Internet.

Simon Sajan, a student of II year MBBS at Father Muller Medical College here, has stated that he holds an account with the State Bank of India in Bengaluru.

He had a balance of Rs 14,000 until recently. When he wanted to take out money earlier this week, it was found to be left without any balance.

Enquiries have revealed that the account had been hacked in London and the amount of Rs 14,000 withdrawn from there.

The police are pursuing the case.
