Mangaluru: Rowdy-Sheeter Naufal Bajal Murdered in Uppala

Mangaluru: Notorious rowdy-sheeter Naufal Bajal, a resident of Faizal Nagar, Mangaluru, and also known as “Tukka Naufal”, was brutally murdered in Uppala on Thursday morning, according to police sources. Bajal, who had a long and extensive criminal history, was also a prime accused in a double murder case dating back to 2017.

Law enforcement officials report that the incident occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. near Uppala Gate. A group of unidentified assailants allegedly lured Bajal to the location and ambushed him, inflicting fatal injuries with swords. The Manjeshwar Police responded to the scene and transported the body to Periyaram Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Preliminary findings indicate that the body was discovered near a railway track, bearing severe lacerations to the head and neck. The victim was found partially clothed, wearing only a banyan and trousers, suggesting a struggle may have ensued during the attack. A scooter located in close proximity to the scene is believed to have been used by Bajal to travel to the location.

Naufal Bajal was a well-known figure in Mangaluru’s underworld, with a reputation cultivated through involvement in a range of illicit activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, and illegal gold trade. He maintained associations with other notorious rowdies and was the primary suspect in the 2017 Farangipete double murder case involving Zia and another individual. Bajal had previous connections to the Maripalla Jabbar and Tallat gangs.
Following a period of inactivity by Jabbar and Tallat, Bajal is believed to have established his own criminal organization, which remained active in murder attempts, drug trade, and extortion operations across various regions, including Kankanady, Vamanjoor, Surathkal, and Kavoor.

Authorities suspect the involvement of a rival gang from the Uppala area, given the targeted nature of the attack. The Manjeshwar Police have initiated a comprehensive investigation to determine the identities of the perpetrators and the motives behind the murder.

Naufal’s body is currently held in the mortuary at a Kasaragod hospital, pending further forensic examination. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
