Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during a press meet held at the Press Club, Dr P D Sebastian-Principal/Chairman of Moot Court Society said, “SDM Law College and Centre for Post Graduate studies and Research in Law will be holding a National Level Law Fest “Victoria Iuris” 2015 from 12th to 15th March 2015. Victoria Iuris as the name itself suggests “Victory of Law” is a trend setting moot event encompassing innovative and creative mooting events such as Client Counselling, Trial Advocacy, Appellate Advocacy, Bail Petition, Mock Trial, Negotiation, Legislative Drafting, Youth Parliament, and Legal Crossword culling out the best potentials of Law.”
He further said that the students hailing from top 24 Law schools across the nation will be participating. The events will be assessed by the members of the Mangalore Bar Association, the Advocates and Judges of High Court of Karnataka.
The National Level Fest will be inaugurated on 12th March at 2 pm by Uma M G District and Sessions Judge Mangaluru, Guest of Honour Principal Judge Bailur Shankara Rama, Family Court, Mangaluru, Chief Guest of the Function S P Chengappa the President, Mangalore Bar Association, and Presided over by Dr H Vinod Bhat Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University.
The Valedictory of “Victoria Iuris 2015” will be on 15th March at 2pm and the address will be delivered by Justice N Kumar, Judge High Court of Karnataka and Justice S Abdul Nazeer Judge High Court of Karnataka, and Justice Venugopala Gowda Judge High Court of Karnataka, Guest of Honour being P P Hegde the Chairman, Karnataka State Bar Council, Chief Guest Prof. Arala Rajendra Shetty, Member of SDME Society®. During Valedictory Prof. N G Kadamba, the founder Principal of the College will be felicitated along with other distinguished alumni of the college.
Advocate Raghavendra Rao, Dr Tharanath-Convener, Rakshith and Manmohana Jois were also present during the press meet.
