Mangaluru: St Aloysius PUC Students to host ‘Cause 2015’ for a ‘Good Cause’

Mangaluru: Suhan Alva- Coordinator of Citizen Alliance to Uphold Service and Exchange (CAUSE) addressing the media persons during a press meet held at Mangalore Press Club said, “The student coordinators of St Aloysius P.U College have come forward to help the needy by organizing a charity event ‘Cause-2015’ for Samvedhana (orphans suffering from Aids) , Sevaashram (home for elderly) and Preeti Sadana (orphanage).

“On account of this event we are organising a massive bike rally at 3 p.m which will be flagged off by Mangalore City Traffic Police ACP Udaya Nayak, and a euphoric cultural event at St Aloysius College Loyola Hall from 4:30pm onwards on 15th August 2015. We also had our promotional event on 8th and 9th of August at City centre mall, where the students raised funds by selling homemade soaps, saplings, wall hangings, handmade bookmarks, chocolates etc. The collection made during this event will be donated to the three orphanages. In addition to this we entertained the crowd with dance performances, beat boxing, spot games, spot painting and band performances,” added Alva.

The chief guest for the “Cause 2015” formal function will be S Murugan- Police Commissioner-DK, and Rekha K Alva- Vice Principal, St Aloysius PUC will preside over the function, along with guests of honour namely Mithun Rai-District Youth Congress President, MCC Corporators Praveen Chandra Alva and AC Vinaya Raj (all three ex-Aloysians) among others.
