Mangaluru: Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal jointly held a press meet at the VHP office here, on December 29.

Addressing the mediapersons Zonal Secretary M B Puranik said that the Congress government after coming to power has been adopting anti-Hindu policy. “The state government has withdrawn the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill 2010 and Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation (Amendment) Bill 2012, doing injustice to ‘Gomatha’ and hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.”

He further said that the government is interfering in temple issues, the temples and Maths are working for the welfare of the people but the government is snatching the freedom of the Maths and temples. “If there is any problem in the Math, the committee will solve it. Why should the government involve in such matters? The present government has adopted a policy which is dangerous than the British policy ‘Doctrine of Lapse’. There are a number of cases in the Mosques and Churches. Why is the government not interfering in their issues?” he questioned.

“Day-by-day Hindus are facing problems, we need to see an end to the anti-Hindu policies of the state government.” He further said that the opposition parties are blaming the central government for conversion. “We are not converting anyone but if a person wants to re-convert to his/her own religion, we are not stopping them. In Kerala, many people had converted to other religions but after realizing it, they have re-converted to Hinduism. We are not against any religion, we are peace lovers and we want to live in peace. The Congress party is trying to divide the country. The present state government is trying to please the minority for vote bank and is acting against Hindus.”

Recalling the recent bomb blast in Bengaluru Puranik said that the government is unable to curb terror attacks. When asked about the ‘Bahu Lao-Beti Bachao’ campaign, Puranik said that in Kerala in the name of love jihad, a number of conversions are taking place. “We have to find out why the Hindu girls are marrying boys from other religions.”

He also said that a massive protest rally will be organized on January 1 at 3 p.m from Sharavu Temple and will culminate in front of the DC Office. Sri Vishweshatirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math will lead the protest rally.
Sharan Pumpwell, Kateel Dinesh Pai, Praveen Kuthar and Gopal Kuttar were also present.
