Moodbidri Police Apprehend Three Individuals for Illegal Cattle Transportation

Moodbidri: In a recent operation, Moodbidri police have arrested three individuals allegedly involved in the illegal transportation of cattle. The accused were apprehended on October 15, 2025, at approximately 5:00 PM, following a tip-off regarding suspicious activity on the Hosmar–Nellikaru Road in Moodbidri taluk.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mansoor Adyapady @ Mohammed Mansoor, Mohammed Ashwad, and Abdul Mohammed Nisham. Law enforcement officials intercepted a Tata Ace container vehicle and discovered three head of cattle being transported within, in violation of established regulations.

The prime suspect, Mansoor Adyapady @ Mohammed Mansoor, is a repeat offender with a substantial criminal record. Prior to this arrest, he had 29 cases registered against him across various police stations, making this incident his 30th recorded offense.

Mohammed Ashwad, the second accused, has one prior case registered against him under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act at the Ullal Police Station. This recent arrest marks his second recorded offense. Abdul Mohammed Nisham, the third individual taken into custody, has no prior criminal record.

Authorities have registered a case at the Moodbidri Police Station under Crime No. 178/2025, encompassing charges related to the organized illegal transportation of cattle. All three accused were presented before the court and have been remanded to judicial custody pending further investigation. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
