Moodbidri: The Mangaluru city crime bureau (CCB) had earlier this week arrested three persons from here when they were reportedly waiting near Swaraj maidan here with intent to murder a prominent person, whose name has not been disclosed by the police.
The three arrested are Subhash (23) from Jyotinagar Kavoor, Raviraj (29) from Kunjattabail and Nataraj aka Natu (25), also from Kunjattabail in Mangaluru. Lethal weapons, besides a Maruti Omni car, were seized from their possession.
The local court has remanded them to judicial custody. The case was handed by the CCB to Moodbidri police for further investigation.
They interrogated the accused and found out that three persons from here also were involved in the plot.
Police sources have named them as ‘Bombay’ Kiran Shetty of Padumarnadu, Sujit Shetty of Kallabettu and Samit Raj of Daregudde, based on the confessions of the arrested. Kiran Shetty is said to be the mastermind of the plot and the Omni car belongs to Samit Raj, said the sources.
Kiran Shetty is aware of the person who was targeted by the trio, while all others were mere contract killers, they further said.
