Mysuru: The airhostesses of Air India airline will now on adorn themselves in world renowned Mysuru silk saris produced by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation

KSIC president D Basavaraj has informed that the airline has placed an order for 10,000 saris of value Rs 6.5 crore to be supplied for use by the airhostesses. This has boosted the prestige of the KSIC, he has said.

He has further said that the corporation has been manufacturing saris from the range of Rs 12,000 to Rs 2.50 lakh apiece, which have attracted celebrities in India and abroad, film stars and models.A2

Besides, he said, the president of India includes the KSIC products in the gifts and mementoes which are given to foreign dignitaries visiting the country. Silk shawl and draperies are being supplied by the corporation to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, he added.
