Neglecting Hindus led to Congress defeat in Assembly Elections – Boje Gowda

Mangaluru: “The Congress party had ruled for five years in the state because people had voted the party to power. But this time since the Congress neglected Hindus it led to their defeat in the assembly elections”, said MLC Boje Gowda in a press meet held at the Circuit house here on August 4.

Addressing the mediapersons Boje Gowda said, “I have advised our party workers take not only the minorities but also the Hindu community into confidence. We welcome the minority and we have special concern towards them. At the same we respect the Hindu community too. I have also advised the party workers to work on finding the reason for the JD(S) for not being an influential party in Dakshina Kannada. This time for the MLC elections we had taken the intellectuals into confidence and they had supported me. I would like to thank all those who supported me to win the elections.”

Boje Gowda further said, “In THE six districts including Dakshina Kannada in South-West Teachers Constituency has the highest number of BJP MLAs, and MPs but people have elected me. JD(S) does not have any MLA or MP in the Coastal district but intellectuals have cast their votes in my favour. Teachers face a number of problems and to solve their problems I have decided to open an office in Mangaluru. Voters from Mangaluru have voted in my favour in large numbers and I am committed to solving their problems. We have also solved the problems of guests lecturers and re-appointed 12000 guest lecturers. We will hold a meeting with the Chief Minister as well as the teachers representatives to solve their problems”.

The district JD(S) president Mohammed Kunhi, Working president Ram Ganesh, JD(S) Spokesperson Sushil Noronha, Vasanth Poojary, JD(S) Youth President Askhith Suvarna, Sumathi Hegde and others were also present.
