No plans to meet Ambareesh: Siddaramaia

Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Saturday, said that he was unaware whether Mandya MLA M H Ambareesh had accepted the ‘B’ form issued by the party or not.

Siddaramaiah was speaking to reporters near his residence in TK Layout here. When reporters asked about Ambareesh’s candidature, the chief minister said, “The KPCC president has issued ‘B’ form to Ambareesh and he has to contest. I am unaware whether he has received it or not”.

Replying to a query, the chief minister said he would not meet Ambareesh.

From Badami
Excise Minister R B Timmapur, who was with Siddaramaiah, said he had been urging Siddaramaiah to contest from Badami Assembly segment in Bagalkot district for the development of the region. “He will contest from both Chamundeshwari and Badami Assembly segments,” Timmapur said.

However, Siddaramaiah maintained that he would discuss with the party command and take a decision on contesting from Badami.

Rahul’s tour
Siddaramaiah said Congress president Rahul Gandhi will tour the state for seven days in three phases. Rahul will visit the state on April 26 and 27, May 3, 4, 5 and May 8 and 9, Siddaramaiah said.

He said he would undertake a statewide tour from April 25. “I have visited 150 constituencies so far and will tour the remaining,” Siddaramaiah said.
