‘Not only Winning in Modi wave, fulfill the demands of community’ – Dr G Shanker
Udupi: “Those who have won with the Modi Wave, should give priority and fulfill the demands of the various communities in the country”, said fishermen leader Dr G Shanker.
Responding to the Recent allegations of Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje that Dr G Shanker had tried cheap politics against her, he said, “I have not played any cheap politics against Shobha in the Lok Sabha elections. The government had failed to respond to the long pending demands of the fishermen communities, that is why I tried to send a message to the government through my community”.
Dr G Shanker further said, “I have Nothing to gain, playing politics with any political parties. I have worked for the betterment of the society for many years and I will continue it. I have dedicated my life to society. I will fight for the demands of my community until my last breath”.
He also said, “MP Shobha Karandlaje has made cheap allegations against me. In last assembly elections, I had initiated a booth-level survey for the success of the BJP in the Kaup Assembly constituency. She might have forgotten it but I still remember. The Lok Sabha elections are not the last elections, soon there will be other elections and I will do the same survey across the district”.
“We have been demanding the State and Union government to include the fishermen community in the State under the Scheduled Tribe category for many years. Unfortunately, governments have not responded positively to our demand. If the same thing continues, we will surely show our strength in the coming elections”, he warned.
