Notorious Underworld Rowdy Asgar Ali Arrested in Uppala
Mangaluru: A notorious underworld rowdy was arrested in Uppala by the Kankanady Town Police on June 15, 2019.
The arrested has been identified as Asgar Ali who was involved in 9 cases and has been absconding since 2007.
According to the police, Asgar Ali was involved in 9 cases including 2 murder cases. In 2007, Asgar Ali obtained a fake passport and fled to Dubai.
The police got the information from Asgar’s passport details as well as information from reliable sources which revealed that Asgar had come to India and was hiding in Uppala, Kerala.
Police commissioner Sandeep Patil formed a special team, which was sent to Uppala to nab Asgar Ali. Police Inspector of Kankanady Town Station Jagadish, along with PSI Shyamsundar and team, went to Uppala and successfully arrested Asgar.
Asgar Ali was involved in the following cases:
1. In 2005, he was involved in the murder of Pollali Anantu.
2. He was involved in the murder of Target group Illyas. When he was in Dubai, along with Dawood and others, he hatched a conspiracy to kill the victim. After the murder, he arranged a hideout for the accused in Mumbai.
3. He was involved in cases along with Rashid Malabari
4. He made threat calls for ransom
A detailed investigation will be done about his activities in Dubai. The police have also arrested Nawaz and Rasheed who helped Asgar to obtain the fake passport.
Further investigation is on to find out how many such fake passports have been issued and the involvement of others behind the fake passport racket
