One Arrested in Perdoor Bus Conductor Murder Case

Udupi: The Police on Sunday, July 14 arrested a person in connection with the murder of 38-year-old bus conductor of Byramapplli village under the Hiriyadka Police Station limits.

The arrested has been identified as Rakshak Poojary (19) a resident of Bukkigudde, Kukkehalli. Another accused Sachin Naika (24) a resident of Perdoor is absconding and the search is on for him.

Acting on a tip-off investigation officer Shrikanth CPI Brhamavar and his team arrested Rakshak in Hebri. Rakshak will be produced before the court on Monday, July 15.

On Thursday, July 11, two men had visited conductor Prashanth Poojary’s house at midnight. When the victim came out of the house there was an argument between them over a financial issue. As the argument turned bitter, the miscreants entered the house, locked up Rakshak’s wife and children in another room and attacked Poojary with a sickle.

Though Rakshak’s wife Vijaya screamed for help and even attempted contacting the neighbours over the phone. An hour later, her relatives reached her house and saw Poojary’s body lying in a pool of blood.

The accused had left behind their motorcycle as it did not start due to a technical problem.
