Pinarayi Betrayed the Devotees Allowing Women to Enter Sabarimala Temple – BD Leader Sunil KR
Udupi: Sunil K R Convener of the South Karnataka unit of the Bajrang Dal said, “The entry of women into the Sabarimala shrine has hurt the sentiments of the devotees. It shows the attitude of the Chief Minister to allow women of traditionally barred age group into the temple. The Police have acted on behalf of the chief minister. This was the result of the obstinate attitude of chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan”.
Speaking at the protest organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal against Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, over the entry of two women into the Sabarimala temple at Martyrs memorial Ajjarakadu on Thursday, Sunil said that the Kerala government will face the ‘wrath’ of Lord Ayyappa.
He further said that the government has betrayed the devotees by allowing women to enter the shrine. “The Communist leaders, their future generations and the Kerala government are not going to escape the wrath of Lord Ayyappa for all their wrong-doings at Sabarimala,”.
Udupi District BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde said that the customs and rituals in places of worship particularly in temples have been practiced for thousands of years and the court has no role in deciding matters related to faith. The restriction imposed on women between the age group of 10 and 50 from trekking the holy hills of Sabarimala and offering prayers at the temple is in accordance with the practice prevalent from time immemorial, as the deity is in the form of a Naisthik Brahmachari, he said.
VHP leader Manjunath Swami said, “The entry of two women into Sabarimala temple has hurt the devotees’ sentiments. The ‘atheist’ Kerala government is conspiring to destroy the Hindu religion. The Supreme Court had granted women of all age groups entry into the Sabarimala temple in its October 2018 verdict. This is against the temple’s tradition of restricting menstruating women from entering the temple premises”, he said.
