PM Modi is Blowing his Trumpet in Japan – U T Khader

Mangaluru: “Prime minister Narendra Modi is trying to find out black money by demonetizing the notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. People in the country, including bank employees, are facing problems because of the demonetization of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denominations. Instead of finding a solution to solve the problem of the people, PM Modi is blowing his trumpet in Japan”, said the minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit house here on November 13.

Welcoming the move of Modi to demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000, Khader said, “The tough decision taken by Modi in curbing black money is a good move but the people who have Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations are waiting in the hot sun to exchange the notes. After waiting for the entire day in front of the bank and finally when they get 2 notes of Rs 2000 denomination what can the people do with it? Before demonetizing the notes, the finance minister should have taken appropriate measures so that people would not have faced the problems they are facing now. Modi has totally failed to address the problems after demonetization of the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes,” said Khader.

Khader further said, “There is no scarcity of salt, do not panic, if the seller hikes the price of salt, the public should inform the food department officers”. The food department has already taken measures to see that there is no scarcity of salt. There is no scarcity of salt throughout the world. Salt is produced all over the country and it is available in packets. According to the weight, the MRP is also printed on the packet. If anyone is found selling salt for a higher price than the MRP by pasting a sticker over the printed MRP price on the packet, people should bring it to the notice of the concerned authorities, so that action will be taken against them”.

The food and civil supplies have taken measures to retain the prices of rice, wheat, sugar, edible oil, and flour. The retailers cannot stock more than 100 Quintal food in their shops and for the wholesalers, it is 1000 Quintal. Sometimes the retailers and the wholesalers buy more food grains when the price is less and stock them. When there is scarcity, they sell it for a much higher price. The department officers will raid shops and godowns and take action those not following the rules.

Ullal Attack

“I have visited the victim Ram Mohan, who was assaulted in Ullal, I have also visited Nawaz and Sameer in the hospital and given them assurance of doing justice. I am in constant touch with the police department to see that the criminals involved in the crime are arrested. There are CCTV cameras installed at some distance from the crime spot. The accused will be arrested soon and will be punished severely. The police have imposed section 144 CrPC but for the general public, there will not be any problems. To maintain the law and order and as a precautionary measure, the section has been imposed. Police are investigating the case, no one will interfere in the investigations being done by the police department”.

Bike seizure

“I have already instructed the police to seize the bikes without number plates. There is no question of imposing Rs 100 penalty and allowing them to go even if they have documents. The bikes running without number plates will be seized, in this regard, bike riders should be cautious and not ride motorbikes without number plates”, said Khader.
