Power of being a Politician? MLA Moideen Bava Abuses City Cop

Mangaluru : Just because you are a MLA or a elected politician by citizens, that doesn’t mean that you can go against the rules/laws when it comes to the safety of the citizens. Here is a story about a MLA abusing a city traffic cop just because he was trying to make way for a ambulance carrying a patient. Traffic laws should be the same for everyone, no matter he or she is a minister, or a MLA/MLC or any government position held elected by the citizens.

Sources reveal that on Saturday, Mangaluru North MLA Moideen Bawa abused a traffic policeman in foul language while his car was stopped by the cop to make way for a emergency ambulance transporting a patient in bad condition, near Nanthoor Circle here. It is learnt that an ambulance was on its way from Karnataka Poly-Technic (KPT), in the meantime MLA’s vehicle was coming from Mahaveera Circle (Kankanady Pumpwell) towards KPT junction, during which at that time a ambulance was on its way to the hospital.

To make way for the ambulance which was transporting a emergency patient, a City traffic cop stopped MLA Bava’s vehicle from moving forward. Enraged at the policeman’s action, MLA Bava took the traffic cop to task for stopping his car. In spite of the traffic cop trying to convince the MLA saying that he had stopped other vehicles also in order to give way for the ambulance, but MLA Bava didn’t budge for the cop’s request instead still continued to use his loud voice with foul words, which was reported by a eye witness on the scene.

In conclusion, you make the judgment- whether the cop was right in stopping the vehicles including one that of the MLA in order to give way for the ambulance in a emergency service or that the cop was wrong in stopping a MLA’s vehicle. Probably everyone would agree that the cop was right ad just following the rules irrespective of caste, creed or politician?

But then there were only a hand full of Kings. Now there are thousands who act like Kings. Bawa always wanted show and this is one of it. Because of His behavior traffic was stopped for long time. He should be charged for Traffic Violations. Ex.Minister J Poojary should expose this matter… Read more »

Applauds to the brave cop who took a panga with the MLA to protect the rights of the citizens.
We are ourselves to blame for the culture of few politicians who think they are above the law once get elected.
They forget that we are the people who have elected them.
We pamper these useless politicians and help them build their false ego which finally becomes a headache to citizens. Moideen Bava needs to be reminded that he is a people’s representative and not a king!!
