Prajitha Biju Conferred PhD in Pharmacy by Yenepoya Deemed to be University
Mangaluru: Mrs. Prajitha Biju, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutics at Yenepoya Pharmacy College & Research Centre, Mangaluru, has been awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmacy by Yenepoya Deemed to be University. The degree was conferred during the university’s 15th convocation ceremony, held on November 15, 2025, at Deralakatte, Mangaluru, Karnataka.
Mrs. Biju’s doctoral research focused on innovative treatment modalities for dermal fungal infections. Her thesis, titled “Carbamide and Luliconazole Niosomal gel as a treatment modality for Dermal Fungal Infections,” explored novel approaches to combat these prevalent conditions.
The research was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed, Principal of Yenepoya Pharmacy College, and Dr. Manjunath Shenoy, Head of the Department of Dermatology at Yenepoya Medical College & Hospital, Mangaluru. Mrs. Biju expressed her sincere gratitude to both mentors for their invaluable direction and support throughout her doctoral journey.
Prior to pursuing her PhD, Mrs. Biju garnered extensive experience in teaching pharmaceutics and related subjects. Her passion for research in the field was a driving force behind her academic pursuits. She has contributed significantly to the body of knowledge through numerous publications and has been granted several patents in her area of expertise.
In acknowledging the accomplishment, Mrs. Biju attributed her success to the blessings of God, the unwavering support of her parents, family members, and friends. She also expressed her appreciation for the cooperation and assistance extended by all concerned individuals, departments, and the management of Yenepoya Deemed to be University.
