Private Bus Catches Fire Near Uppoor; Seven Passengers Escape Unhurt
Udupi: A private bus caught fire near Brahmavar on Thursday morning, August 20, triggering a swift evacuation of passengers.
The bus was travelling from Udupi to Sagara when it suddenly caught fire. All seven passengers on board escaped unhurt, averting a major tragedy.
The conductor reportedly noticed flames coming from the EDC box and immediately alerted the passengers and evacuated them from the bus.
Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Udupi Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Further details are awaited.
