Promoting Nalin as State Chief, BJP has Insulted Mahathma Gandhi – Ramanath Rai
Udupi: “Appointing Nalin as BJP state chief, the BJP Central leader has given promotion to Nalin Kumar Kateel who has insulted Mahathma Gandhiji”, said former minister B Ramanath Rai.
He was speaking to media persons in Udupi on Wednesday, August 21. Last year Nalin Kumar Kateel being a responsible MP had insulted Mahatma Gandhi by supporting Nathuram Godse. During the time PM Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah had said that they will never forgive Nalin for insulting Gandhi. Unfortunately today the BJP central leadership has given promotion to Nalin as the state BJP Chief. Nalin maybe a cleaver person but people have never forgotten him for his remarks about Mahathma Gandhiji, he said.
Further Rai accused the state and central governments of failing to respond to the woes of the flood-affected people in Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had enough time to travel to Bhutan. However, he had no time to visit the natural calamity-affected people in Karnataka, he added.
“The automobile industries in the country are in distress. Many have lost their jobs. Spinning mills are closing down. Instead of generating employment, people are losing their employment. The coastal districts were neglected in the cabinet expansion, which will have an impact on the development of the region”, stressed Rai.
Former minister U T Khader said, “Compensation for flood victims should be announced on the lines of Kodagu package. The state government has failed to respond to the woes of the victims of natural calamity.”
