Protests Against CAB: Prohibitory Orders Imposed in Udupi For 3 Days

Udupi: Ahead of large scale protests that have been planned in Karnataka over the Citizenship Amendment Bill, the Udupi deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh has imposed prohibitory orders across the district for the next three days.

In a press release issued by the DC office on Wednesday, December 18 night it has been stated that the prohibitory orders will be in force from December 19 from 6 am until midnight December 21. Large gatherings have been banned under Section 144, which bans the gathering of four or more persons.

In addition, there will be a ban on processions and demonstrations. No person will organize nor lead a demonstration, dharna or agitation in the district. No person will be able to carry a knife, stick, sharp weapon or any other deadly weapons in a public place.
