Railway Station Singer Ranu Mandal Reunites with Daughter after Ten Years

Mangaluru : On 14 August Team Mangalorean had published an article Extreme Makeover! Beggar Woman Singing ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ gone Viral Gets Her into Bollywood? “, about a woman street beggar singing in railway station in Kolkotta, rising to fame after she got an offer to be on a reality show in Bollywood. Her life now seems to be turned from “Rags to Riches”, with many Bollywood celebrities giving her offers to sing. That’s indeed good to hear, and thanks should go to the young engineer who video taped her singing at the Kolkotta railway station platform.

But now here is yet another story of Ranu Mandal, that after her video went viral her daughter came looking for her, and they both are united together. A few days ago, it was difficult for Ranu Mandal to arrange two square meals for her. A passenger made Ranu’s video viral on social media and her bad days were over. Ranu has been given a singing break by Himesh Reshammiya in his film. Ranu has a name and money today. Now Ranu’s daughter has also returned to her after 10 years.

Railway Platform Singer Ranu Mandal reunited with Daughter Sati after 10 years

The video of Ranu singing with daughter Sati has gone viral. Sati Roy is divorced, and has a son. She is running a grocery shop. People may be taunting Sati that she has returned to her mother only because of wealth and fame of her mother now, but Atindra (passenger who made Ranu’s video viral) had denied this in one of his posts.

Atindra wrote in Bengali – Today I am really happy, only God knows why I am happy, money is not a big deal in life. Ranu is getting her daughter back today due to a video of mine. A video of Ranu singing at Ranaghat station was made by Atindra Chakraborty and he made it viral on his Facebook account. Atindra is a software engineer who lives in Ranaghat. Ever since Ranu got fame, she has been with him. When Bollywood celebrity Himesh saw the singing video of Ranu, he was charmed by her sweet voice. He has got Ranu to record a song for his upcoming film ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’. Himesh also shared a video of the recording on Instagram. In which Ranu was seen recording the song ‘Teri Meri Kahani’.

In conclusion, even though Ranu Mandal when speaking to media has said that she has been looking for her mother since ten years, and now she is happy to be reunited with her after she saw her mother’s video on social media recently- it seems like it is hard to believe her for the fact that many parents are blindly neglected by many children these days. If Sati is really speaking the truth, then she will be really blessed by God. But on the other hand, one would want to know-why even her mother was on streets and singing for a living on a railway platform. Kind of fishy and hard to believe in this regard. But whatever be the reason, at least mother and daughter are reunited again.

While looking at the present situation in India, including Mangaluru-the old aged homes have been growing year by year for giving shelter for old people. First of all I thought why these homes have been emerging in to the society, like America. When you look at the plight of old aged parents and some other senior citizens life seems to be miserable, who have been neglected by their affordable children. Many of the present young generation don’t realize that parents are the living gods who sacrifice their lives for their children. The children should recollect and change their mind if there is any ill-feeling up on them. What ever the reason it may be, parents are the only one and a sole cause for children’s celebration of being alive.

Yes, children do not value their parents these days. The time has changed. Parents are no more parents. The children think that their parents are a burden to them. The children forget the days when their parents struggled to feed, educate , get them married. When the children get their life partner(wife or husband) they forget their age old parents and send them to old age home to get rid of the burden or simply neglect them. The same will be the plight of the children when they grow old and become parents to their children. This cycle will be repeated. This the children do not understand. If they realize and understand, the strength in old age home will come down drastically- and also you’ll not see old-age persons on the streets, or singing to earn their living on the road side or railway platform, like Ranu Mandal.
