Red Alert in DK, DC Announces Holiday for Schools and Colleges on July 23
Mangaluru: The district administration has declared a holiday on July 23 for schools and PU colleges owing to heavy rains.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, on July 23, there will be heavy rainfall in Coastal Karnataka. There will be 200mm rainfall every day. Due to the heavy rains, the water level will increase in the rural and low lying areas.
Keeping in mind the safety of the children, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil has announced a holiday for schools and PUC colleges on July 23. Fishermen have also been warned not to venture into the sea as there will be heavy winds. DC Sasikanth also requested tourists not to visit the beaches on these days.
