Royal Praveen D’Souza of St Aloysius Awarded PhD in Computer Science

Mangaluru: Royal Praveen D’Souza, Assistant Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology and Chairperson of AI and Management Systems at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, has been conferred the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science by the University of Mysore. The distinction was awarded in recognition of his thesis, “A Novel Approach for Agricultural Crop Yield Prediction using Soft Computing Techniques.”

Mr. D’Souza’s research explored innovative methodologies within the domain of soft computing to improve the accuracy and efficiency of agricultural crop yield prediction. The findings of his doctoral work are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of advanced agricultural management systems, potentially aiding in optimizing resource allocation and enhancing crop productivity.

His research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. G. N. K. Suresh Babu, a Research Guide from the Department of Computer Science at Srishti College of Commerce and Management, Bengaluru. Dr. Babu’s guidance was instrumental in the successful completion of Mr. D’Souza’s doctoral research.

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Royal Praveen D’Souza also contributes to the community as a resource team member of the Mangalore Diocesan Social Communication Commission.

Dr. D’Souza is the son of Mr. Pius D’Souza and Mrs. Lidwin D’Souza, and is married to Mrs. Annette Preethi Monteiro.
