RPF Seizes Goa Liqour on Madgaon – Mangalore DEMU Train

Udupi: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel attached to Karwar Railway Station on Tuesday March 21 seized liquor from Goa worth Rs 13,000 being illegally transported on the Madgaon – Mangalore DEMU train at Karwar.

A release from the Konkan Railway Corporation here said that the RPF was in the process of conducting special checking, particularly in view of the smuggling of cheap liquor to Karnataka. When they were inspecting train no. 70105, Madgaon – Mangalore DEMU train, they noticed one unclaimed carton containing 266 bottles of liquor from Goa in the general compartment.

The seized liquor has been handed over to the Karwar Excise department release.
