SCDCC to Hold 64th All India Co-operative week on Nov 15 in City

Mangaluru: “The 64th All India Cooperative Week will be held from November 14 to 20. Programmes will be held in various districts in the state. The inauguration of the 64th All India Co-operative Week will be held in Belagavi on November 14 and the valedictory will be held in Raichur on November 20. On November 15, the programme under the theme of “Cooperative Producers to Consumers”, will be inaugurated in Mangaluru at the Football grounds, Nehru Maidan at 10:30 am”, said the president of Karnataka State Co-operative Marketing Federation Dr Rajendra Kumar in a press meet held at the SCDCC conference hall here on November 9.

Addressing the mediapersons Rajendra Kumar said, “On November 15, more than 12000 people will take part in the programme. There will be a colourful procession, “Samudayadatta Sahakara Jatha” from SCDCC bank premises which will culminate at the Football grounds and more than 22 troupes including Kalladka puppetry troupe and Kerala Chende will accompany the Jatha. On the occasion, Nandini products will be launched by the Minister for Small Scale Industries Ramesh Jarkiholi. Former CM Sadananda Gowda will flag off the Jatha and the District Minister In-charge B Ramanath Rai will hoist the 64th All India Cooperative Week flag”.

Rajendra Kumar further said, “Minister for food and Civil Supplies U T Khader will release the special edition of the Co-operative bulletin. Minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs, Pramod Madhwaraj will confer the awards to the achievers. President of Karnataka State Co-Operative Society Shekhar Gowda V Mali Patil will preside over the programme.”

Rajendra Kumar also said, “MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Moideen Bava, Chief Whip of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza, ZP President Meenakshi Shanthigodu, Mayor Kavitha Sanil, Halappa Basappa Achar, G P Patil, S I Patil, Krishnayya, Raviraj Hegde Kodavoor, Police commissioner T R Suresh, DC Sasikanth Senthil will be the guests”.

Raviraj Hegde, Harish Achar, Devaraj, Sadashiv Ullal, Dr Satyanarayan, Satish Rao, Chittaranjan Bolar, Praveen Naik, Rajram Bhat, Sudharashan, Sashikumar Rai and Monappa Shetty were also present.
