Scoring 623 out of 625 Marks in SSLC Exam, Udupi Girl Aspires to be Aerospace Engineer

Scoring 623 out of 625 marks in SSLC Exam, Udupi Girl Anagha Udupa, a student of Viveka English Medium School, Kota, has topped Udupi district in the SSLC exam and aspires to be an Aerospace Engineer engineer

Mangaluru: Even though last year Udupi District ranked first among 30 districts, but this year slipped to the fourth position, achieving an overall pass percentage of 87.97%. Last year it had a pass percentage of 88.18%. Sources reveal that in Udupi district out of 14,114 students 11,770 have passed in SSLC examination, thereby achieving the 87.97%. Out of the total number of students appeared this year, 13,003 took exams for the first time, while 11,457 students, including 5902 girls passed their examinations.

Anagha Udupa

Anagha Udupa, a student of Viveka English Medium School, Kota, has topped Udupi district in the SSLC exam by securing 623 marks out of 625. She is the daughter of Nagesh Udupa, who is a head constable with the Lokayukta police in Udupi, and Ms Vinaya Udupa, a homemaker. Speaking to Team Mangalorean over the phone, Anagha’s mother said, “My daughter is to study hard every day for about three to four hours. And the best part is that she never took any coaching class. We as parents are glad that she came out in flying colors, for all the hard work and dedication she put in”.

Also speaking, Anagha Udupa said, “As my mother said, I used to study three to four hours daily, and never took any coaching. I gave importance to self-study and if I had any doubts, I approached my teachers and they were the only people happy to help me clear my doubts. My only ambition is to become an aerospace engineer and work in ISRO. But it all depends on how I score in second year PUC. Hope my dreams will come true. And for all my success in SSLC exams, I attribute it to my parents and teachers”. Besides studies, Anagha also loves to participate in cultural activities. She has passed junior level exams in Carnatic vocal. “I love singing, drawing, participating in elocution, and acting in plays,” she said.

Ankita P Acharya

Yet another SSLC student from Udupi district is Ankita P Acharya, student of Shantiniketan English Medium School-Alevvor, who had scored 621 marks out of 625 (99.36%) and is ranked fifth in the state. She had scored 125 in Sanskrit, 100 in English, 100 in Kannada, 100 in Mathematics, 98 in Social Science and 98 in Science. Speaking to media she had said that she woke up at 4 am before the days of exams, to read and practice. Her dad T G Prabhakar Acharya is a goldsmith, while her mother, Vijayashree Acharya is a homemaker. Ankita’s goal is to reach greater heights in Biotechnology, and she wants to take up science in PUC.
