Shiroor Swamiji had Complained against Matadeeshas of Six Maths to SP on June 25
Udupi: The mysterious death of Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji is getting various twists day by day. The Swamiji had written a complaint to the SP of Udupi against the Asta Matadeeshas on June 24. The Swamiji died on July 19.
The Shiroor Swamiji had clearly mentioned the misunderstanding between him and the Swamijis of Six other Maths in the handing over of the presiding deity of Shiroor Math in a complaint letter to the SP. He had also mentioned that if anything goes wrong in future, the Matadeeshas of Six Maths will be held responsible.
Because of illness, Shiroor Swamiji had given the idol of the presiding deity of his Math to Sri Ishapriya Theertha, junior Swamiji of Sri Adamar math, to keep it in the sanctum sanctorum of the Sri Krishna Math. But when he sought the idol back after his recovery, the Swamijis of the six maths refused to return it.
He had also mentioned, “I have decided to go on fast to get back the presiding deity. If anything goes wrong because of the fasting, the Swamijis from six Maths are directly responsible”.
When SP Laxman Nimbargi was contacted about the letter, he said, “We received a letter on June 25. Someone had come to our office, given the complaint letter and taken the acknowledgement slip”. The SP refused to give more information on the matter.
