Silver Screen Star Nidhi’s Father Subbaiah (63) Passes away
Bengaluru: Bollachanda Belliappa ‘Subhash’ Subbaiah (63), a resident of Gokulam in Mysuru and former secretary of the Federation of Kodava Samajas and Shri Cauvery educational institutions group, passed away in the night of July 31, following a brief illness.

He is survived by wife Jhansi and their daughter and sole issue Nidhi Subbaiah, a model-turned-actor who has earned a niche for herself in Sandalwood with her performances in ‘Anna Bond’ and others and in Bollywood with movies like ‘Oh My God’ with Akshay Kumar. Subbaiah was so supportive when she chose a modelling and movie career.

A Law graduate, Subbaiah had served in different positions of management in coffee plantations and a tile factory. After retirement, he took to farming at Ilavala on the outskirts of Mysuru. His father Belliappa too was a well-known personality in the community.
Subhash had fallen ill two years ago and had recovered. A few months ago, he ailed again, had received treatment in Mumbai and had returned.
His final rites were scheduled to be held in Chirashantidhama crematorium, Gokulam, Mysuru at 2 pm on August 1.
