Tempo Driver Assaulted by group at Uppinangady
Uppinangady: A driver of a Gas Cylinder transporting Tempo was assaulted and looted by a group at Medarabettu, Kadavinabagilu here on July 11.
The injured has been identified as Abdul Rehman from Mata.
According to sources, on July 11, at around 5:30 am, Abdul Rehman was on his way to distribute gas cylinders to the customers. Near Medarabettu, a group waylaid his tempo and damaged the vehicle. Later they pulled Abdul Rehman out from the vehicle and assaulted him.
The group also looted cash from Abdul Rehman before fleeing from the spot.
Abdul Rehman has been admitted to a hospital in Puttur.
Uppinangady police have registered a case and investigation is on.
