Thota Bengre Gang Rape Case, Minister Khader Announces Rs 1 lakh Reward to Police

Mangaluru: The district minister in-charge U T Khader appreciating the swift operation by the police in arresting the accused in the Thota Bengre gang rape case announced Rs 1 lakh reward on November 28.

Minister Khader in his press release has stated that the police have taken action as soon as they got the information about the incident and filed a Suo moto case. The police have arrested the accused which is praiseworthy and needs to be appreciated.

The government will provide compensation to the victim and necessary measures will be taken to rehabilitate her. A decision will be taken to open a police outpost in Thota Bengre.

In such cases, advocates should not fight in favour of the accused. If the advocates refuse to take up rape cases in favour of the accused, such incidents will never happen and the accused will surely be punished.
