Thottam Ganeshotsava Celebrations Highlight Spirit of Communal Harmony
Udupi: In a significant gesture of communal harmony and mutual respect, Rev. Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Anne’s Church, Thottam, and Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, Vicar of Udupi Deanery, Parish Priest of Udupi Church, and Public Relations Officer of the Diocese of Udupi, visited the Ganeshotsava celebrations organised by the Sarvajanika Shree Ganeshotsava Samithi (R), Thottam.

The priests were accompanied by members of the Parish Council and the Sisters of St. Anne’s Convent, Thottam.
The visit was particularly significant as the Ganeshotsava Samithi is celebrating the golden jubilee of its annual festivities, marking 50 years of Ganeshotsava celebrations in Thottam.

The delegation from St. Anne’s Church was warmly received by Prashanth K. Salian, President of the Ganeshotsava Samithi, along with the office-bearers and members of the committee. The visiting priests and members of the delegation were honoured with shawls as a mark of respect and goodwill.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives of the two communities to exchange greetings and convey their best wishes for the successful conduct of the golden jubilee celebrations.

The visit reflected the spirit of friendship, mutual respect and communal harmony prevailing in Thottam. It also highlighted the longstanding bond of togetherness shared by people belonging to different faiths in the locality.
The interaction underscored the importance of fostering social harmony and strengthening relationships across religious communities. Representatives of both communities expressed their best wishes for the successful completion of the golden jubilee Ganeshotsava celebrations and hoped that the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect would continue to grow stronger in Thottam in the years ahead.
