Udupi: Deputy Commissioner R Vishal IAS has acted tough on the offenders involved in the construction of an illegal building near Kalsanka-Gundibailu road by ordering the demolition of the building.
Vishnu Kamath resident of Mission Compound 8th cross road with the alleged support of Udupi City Council members was constructing an illegal building violating the rules in Kalsanka-Gundibailu road. Ganesh Kotian a former CMC member had filed a complaint in the Deputy Commissioner’s office and CMC Commissioners office urging for a probe.
The Deputy Commissioner had instructed the CMC Commissioner to conduct an enquiry and furnish a report on matter. The Senior Engineer had submitted his report on January 21 to the CMC Commissioner Srikanth Rao.
Srikanth Rao with the Senior Engineer and Assistant Senior Engineer held spot investigation and came to a conclusion to demolish the building. Earlier the CMC Members Celina Karkada and Sashiraj Kunder used foul language against the Commissioner and stopped them when the CMC team had arrived to demolish the building.
Deputy Commissioner R Vishal IAS took serious note of the issue and also on the report and ordered the CMC officials to demolish the building. On February 3, CMC officials along with police protection demolished the building.
