Udupi: Dr Raghupati Acharya, Popular Vet at Padubidri, Dies while on Duty

Udupi: Dr Raghupati Acharya (55), serving as a veterinarian in the department of animal husbandry and veterinary services at Padubidri, died while on a house call in Padebettu on Feb 26.

He had undergone a heart-related surgery a few years ago, yet used to respond to every call from cattle-owners and attend to their problems with keen interest.

On receiving a request from the owner of a cow which was about to lay its young one, he had gone to Padebettu. While attending to it, he complained of breathing difficulties and had to be rushed to a hospital in Udupi. But he appeared to have died on the way.

Hailing from the well-known Kudure Acharya lineage of Yellur and a resident of Kemundelu in the district, he had served in Kalghatgi, Murdeshwar and Padubidri.
