Udupi Police Issue Externment Orders Against Two Individuals, Including Notorious Rowdy-Sheeter

Udupi: In a move aimed at maintaining public order and preventing potential criminal activities, Udupi District Superintendent of Police (SP) and Special Executive Magistrate Hariram Shankar has issued externment orders against two individuals, one of whom is a known rowdy-sheeter. The orders, dated April 2nd, mandate the removal of the accused from the Udupi district limits for a specified period.

The individuals subject to these externment orders have been identified as Vijetha, a resident of the Udyavar village area, near Pitrodi Syndicate Bank, under the jurisdiction of the Kaup Police Station, and Arif Saheb, a resident of Mudrangadi in Ellur village, within the Padubidri Police Station limits.

According to official reports, Vijetha is currently facing legal proceedings in connection with four separate cases, all involving serious charges of attempted murder and assault. Arif Saheb, on the other hand, has an even more extensive criminal record, with five registered cases against him. These cases include charges of attempted murder, assault, and illegal drug consumption. Furthermore, authorities have confirmed that a rowdy sheet, a formal record of habitual offenders, has been opened against Arif Saheb at the Padubidri Police Station, marking him as a repeat offender and a potential threat to public safety.

SP Hariram Shankar has specified the areas to which the externed individuals are to be relocated. Vijetha is now required to reside within the limits of Karwar Town Police Station in the neighboring Uttara Kannada district. Arif Saheb, considered a greater risk due to his rowdy-sheet status and history of drug-related offenses, has been externed to the jurisdiction of Koppa Police Station in Chikkamagaluru district.

Externment orders are a legal tool employed by law enforcement agencies in India to temporarily remove individuals with a history of criminal activity or those deemed likely to disrupt public peace from a specific area. These orders are typically issued against individuals whose presence is considered detrimental to the maintenance of law and order as a preventive measure to curb potential criminal behavior. The Udupi Police Department’s decision to issue these externment orders underscores their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the district’s residents.
