Udupi: A 45-year-old man was killed when a bike hit the two-wheeler he was riding at Indarali Manipal here on February 15.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar Shetty (45), a resident of Cherkadi. Anil Kumar Shetty was a Physical Training teacher at Govt High School, Kavadi. The pillion rider Laxman Suvarna and the other bike rider Ragahvendra have sustained injuries. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Manipal.
On Sunday evening, Anil and Laxman were riding on a bike to Manipal. When they reached near Indrali, their bike collided head-on with an oncoming bike. The force of the impact threw them on the road. Anil’s head hit the divider. All the three were rushed to the hospital, but Anil succumbed due to heavy loss of blood.
The condition of Laxman and Raghavendra is critical. They are under observation.
The Udupi Traffic police have registered a case.
