Udupi: Traffic on National Highway 66 near Pangala Bridge Kaup was disrupted for several hours on Wednesday morning after a crane belonging to Suzlon Padubidri overturned.
According to the Kaup police, on Thursday, March 3 at midnight, the crane laden with heavy machinery was moving at high speed on NH 66 to the Suzlon company in Padubidri. When it reached Pangala Bridge near Kaup, the driver lost control while taking a turn. The crane then hit the barricades on the bridge and fell on the other side of the road. The driver and cleaner of the crane suffered minor injuries and were treated as outpatients at a local hospital. The Kaup police arrived at the spot and managed to clear the road.
A case has been registered in the Kaup Police Station.
