Udupi Witnesses Ceremonial Passing-Out of 14th Batch of Armed Reserve Police Constables

Udupi: Police personnel must uphold the Constitution throughout their service and accord the highest priority to law enforcement, said Inspector General of Police (Western Range), Amit Singh.

He was addressing the Passing Out Parade of the 14th Batch of Armed Reserve Police Constables, organised by the Udupi District Temporary Police Training School at the District Armed Reserve (DAR) Grounds in Udupi. Amit Singh, the chief guest, received the ceremonial salute during the parade.

Addressing the newly trained constables, Amit Singh said police personnel should discharge their duties with dedication, professionalism, and a spirit of public service. He noted that police officers often work under immense pressure and must therefore demonstrate patience, discipline, and professionalism at all times. He also advised them to maintain both physical and mental fitness through self-discipline and self-control.

Principal of the Police Training School, Sudhakar Nayak, said the batch comprised former servicemen as well as candidates with higher educational qualifications. During the ten-month training programme, the trainees received instruction in law, computer applications, mental health awareness, and other contemporary subjects. They also underwent rigorous training in physical fitness, yoga, karate, drill, and weapon handling.

Trainees who excelled in indoor events, outdoor activities, and firing competitions were presented with prizes. Shivappa Channabasappa Itnal, who secured the highest overall performance across all three categories, was honoured with the Best All-Round Trainee Award.

Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar welcomed the gathering, while Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhakar S. Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
