VC Dr Karisiddappa-VTU, Belagavi visits Sahyadri College

Mangaluru: Dr Karisiddappa, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi visited Sahyadri and interacted with students and staff members.

Firstly, it was a great opportunity for the Sahyadri students who achieved in IIT’s and NIT’s to present their achievements with respect to Robotics, Motorsports and Aerophilia and also their growth story in front of the Vice-Chancellor.

Dr Karisidddapa while addressing the gathering expressed his views that one should have a passion for learning followed by continuous exploring. He also mentioned that Learning is a never ending process, it strengthens the fundamentals. Technology which is learnt in the curriculum is precise, however, there are many more aspects to be covered and one should aim to be an expert in this era of Inter-disciplinary sector. Engineers must learn not only in class-room but also involve in R&D through projects in order to face challenges and utilise the widespread opportunities. He appreciated the efforts of the institution and was amused to see the ideas and actions that he planned for the institutions already existing and being practiced at Sahyadri.

He also quoted Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation as the best example of being a “Successful Entrepreneur”, having long-term vision and systems in place. He emphasized that being an engineer won’t suffice the need; however one should be engineered to be an engineer which makes them productive to the society. Manjunath Bhandary in his remarks reiterated that the motto of Sahyadri is to set high standards hence our student’s achievements in IIT’s and NIT’s have knocked loudly.

Dr Karisiddappa is a student of Dr D L Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, hence while giving the Vote of thanks, Dr D L Prabhakara, going back to his memories, acclaimed that Dr Karisiddappa was humble and a hardworking student and has helped many in need.
