Video Released by HDK is True, Instead of Criticising Investigation should be done – JD(S)

Mangaluru: “Recently former CM H D Kumaraswamy had released Videos of the recent violence in Mangaluru. The BJP and its leaders then started criticizing Kumaraswamy for releasing the videos and the police Commissioner also commented on it. If the videos are fake let them investigate and arrest the one who made those videos. It is the duty of the opposition to bring the problems of the people of the state to the government. JD(S) has done its duty by releasing the videos of the recent incident. If the videos are fake let there be a judicial inquiry so that the truth will come out”, said the district president of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi in a press meet held at Hotel Woodlands here on January 13.

Addressing the mediapersons Mohammed Kunhi said, “The present government is using the police to control the people. When there was the Babri Masjid issue earlier in Puttur more than 4000 people had gathered and Dr Harsha and Dayanand managed it well. But the Commissioner failed to control the crowd in Mangaluru on December 19. JD(S) is not playing politics in the police firing case, there is no vote bank politics behind the CD release. We demand a fair inquiry in the recent violence in Mangaluru”.

Mohammed Kunhi further said, “At present, the law and order situation is not favourable, people are still in fear. The district administration had failed to control the situation. An honest IAS officer Sasikanth Senthil resigned from the post. If such a situation continues many of the IAS officers will resign from their post. The district relief fund lacks funds, the BJP government has not announced any new schemes. Elected MLAs are not getting proper funds for the development work in the district. If such a situation continues the BJP will not survive for long.”

JD(S) spokesperson Sushil Noronha said, “The BJP and other right-wing organizations are holding a massive protest in Kanakapura today against the construction of the statue of Jesus in Kanakapura. From the past 400 years, the Christian community lives there and prays at that site. All the necessary documents were submitted and permission was obtained to install the statue at the site. But now the right-wing organizations of the BJP are protesting against installing the statue. We request the government to intervene and solve the matter”.

District Youth JD(S) president Akshith Suvarna, JD(S) minority president Aziz Kudroli and Sumathi Hegde were also present.
