Viva Bondel Fiesta! First Day of Fiesta was a BLAST on Sat, 2nd Day will be PHENOMENON on Sun

 

Mangaluru: Viva Bondel Fiesta-that’s right! Yes, a sea of revelers turned up for the First day of the two-day BONDEL FIESTA’whic h kicked off on Saturday, 25 January 2020 at 3 pm, where all these party lovers thronged the St Lawrence Church and Shrine campus-Bondel, with the motto “Come Celebrate Your Life”- at the Mega Fun & Frolic Fiesta named “BONDEL FIESTA 2020′ organized by St Lawrence Church and Shrine, Bondel, Mangaluru. This was the second Fiesta in a row, which turned out to be successful one, with good response by people from all religion across the city and outside taking part in the fiesta, much more better than the last year. They all came to enjoy the entertainment, food and take part in the various games and contests.

The First day of the Bondel Fiesta on 25 January was definitely a BLAST, and if you all missed the inaugural day of the fiesta, don’t worry, come today, because on Sunday, the Fiesta will be PHENOMENON! And it will start as early as 8 am in the morning till 10.30 pm, so don’t do any cooking at home, because delicious breakfast and other delicacies are available at the venue. So enjoy your lazy at the Fiesta, and make it one of the memorable fun and frolic event in your lifetime.Saturday from 3 pm to 10 pm, and on Sunday Republic Day from morning 8 am till 10 pm.

Both veg and Non-veg delicacies will be served to tickle the taste buds of the connoisseurs. Entertainment and fun games will be held every minute to keep up the spirits of the participants. Lucky draw, housie housie both traditional and creative, Team games, live singing, Musical evening, etc. will make Bondel Fiesta a place to be. There are around 40 stalls equally dedicated to games and food- for food you can savour on Pork Bafat/sorpothel, chilly, pork salad, chicken Biriyani, kakabs, shawarma, bhel puri, noodles, grill chicken etc; and there are bunch of games where you can win excellent prizes. There is also a face painting counter so as to provide a festive and colourful look to the gathering. If you are not happy with your original look, get yourselves a extreme makeover with a colorful painted face?
Special attraction this year was the Live Sketching and Painting by a renowned artist ‘Nirupam Konwar’ from Guwahati and based at Bengaluru- where he painted the altar of the St Lawrence Church, and this painting will be auctioned at the Fiesta. To go along with it there was yet another mega-event that took place, named “Star Chef of Fiesta”, which was a very unique fashion show cum spoken round for all the homemakers. All they had to do was walk on the ramp in their kitchen outfit, and narrate briefly about their dish they meticulously prepared, and winners took home attractive cash prize.

Also, as a part of social media reach, the organizers had initiated a competition called, ‘Star of Fiesta’ where individual pictures were posted in the Bondel Fiesta Frame and shared among the social media groups. The picture with the highest likes was declared the “Star of Fiesta 2020” and was given a cash award of Rs 5,555.

On Sunday, 26th January at 6:00 pm Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangaluru Diocese will launch the CD ‘Mogachi Lara’ composed by Vincent Fernandes Cascia. Also on 26th January, Sunday, a event named , “Talented Siblings” will be for all. Already quite a few people have registered for these events- and its not late, you still can enter the contest and win fabulous prizes. And, what party or fiesta would be complete without lots of great music and food? Bondel Fiesta’s got that covered with plenty of live music and Dj Acvin who will belt out a few Bollywood, techno and hip-hop music to keep the crowd groovin’ and movin’, and along with delicious culinary treats. It takes a whole lot of people to put on such an enormous event. Run almost entirely by volunteers/parishioners , Fiesta is sometimes called the “Party With a Purpose” because hundreds of volunteers had strived hard to make this event a success

The inaugural programme on Saturday began with a prayer song by talented music composer and singer Fr Cyril Lobo-assistant parish priest of Bondel church and his group, followed by welcome address by Fr Andrew Leo D’souza-the parish priest of the Church. The second edition of ‘Bondel Fiesta 2020’ was inaugurated by Codialbail Press manager Fr Ronald D’Souza, along with Christian Development Board of Karnataka chairman Joylus D’Souza, Pacchanady ward corporator Sangeetha R Nayak, Citadel developers managing partners Ajith Kumar K P and Sandeep K, Parish priest Fr Andrew D’souza, Fr Clifford Pinto-the principal of St Lawrence English Medium School; Reginald D’souza- Pastrol Parish Council vice president and secretary Steevan Noronha and coordinator cultural and entertainment committee Manoj Lewis; Main sponsors- Mr and Mrs Henry Sophia D’souza; Events sponsors- Ms Deena Prabhu Sequeira; among others, by releasing a bunch of Blue and Green coloured balloons in the air.
