The front wall near the front entrance to the school has now got a little brighter- thanks to the talented artists comprising of 50 students and 12 parents who gave that bare wall a gorgeous look with colorful paintings, depicting various topics concerning traffic rules, environment, and Swachh Mangaluru Abhiyan. The whole project costing around Rs 12,000 has been shared by the Traffic Management Team, and from generous donations from students parents.

In the first phase, the students removed the dirt before starting to paint, and using attractive paint colours the “Bare Wall” was transformed into a “Artistic Wall”, which looks neat and clean, carrying social messages to the people. With the area around this School and many other schools in the City getting jammed with traffic, the main idea of this project was to spread awareness on various issues including traffic rules and cleanliness among the people. It would also enhance the beauty of the city too. Also involving students and parents on the painting project would help them imbibe values. They would in turn become messengers of good behaviour, attitude, clean habits and ambassadors of cleanliness. And this initiative would also make a difference among the citizens of Mangaluru.

So today, if you pass by the St Theresa’s School- Bendore-well, Mangaluru you will see a bunch of artworks on this stretch, each one better than the other-which are on different themes – environment, cleanliness, spirituality, Traffic rules etc, but each carrying a strong message.
