We will Analyze all Murder Cases Since One Year to Bring out Truth – Minister Khader
Mangaluru: “I have been wrongly projected with the associate of Pinky Nawaz, the murder accused of Deepak Rao in Katipalla. I do not have any connection with the accused in Deepak Rao’s murder. I strongly condemn the murder of Deepak Rao and at the same time deny any links with the associate of Pinky Nawaz with whom my photo has been circulated in the social media”, said the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader on January 5.
Speaking to mangalorean.com Minister U T Khader said, “I condemn the murder of Deepak Rao and the state government has already sanctioned compensation through the Deputy Commissioner, we will try our best to provide more compensation to Deepak’s family. The case should be investigated properly and the culprits should be severely punished. We will analyze all the murder cases since one year and bring out the report on the same. We will hold a review meeting to discuss all the murders that have taken place in one year and come to a conclusion on who is the victim, who is the accused, reason for the murder, who is contesting those cases in favour of the accused and who is funding the accused. “.
U T Khader further said, “Deepak was the sole breadwinner of the family and we have concern towards his family. I had thought of visiting his house on January 4 but we wanted the matter to be very clear including the reason for the murder. Once things settle I will surely meet Deepak’s mother. I will try my best to provide maximum compensation to Deepak’s family. Those who are hospitalized in the attack will be compensated.”
U T Khader also said, “In the Social media I have been wrongly projected. Many people come to my house and I welcome them wholeheartedly. I never interact with people based on their religion, when people come to my house seeking financial help or for any other matter, I treat them all equally. I do not know or keep track of who clicks my pictures and with whom. It is possible that in some marriage function the member of Target group of Ullal Ilyas was sitting next to me for dinner. I have no idea who clicked that photograph. I cannot tell anyone not to sit next to me for lunch in a marriage function. By sharing that photo some are trying to politicize the issue. The target group does not exist in Ullal as the locals with the help of the police have closed down their office and now they have moved to Katipalla. I do not have any contacts or links with Ilyas. The allegations circulated on the social media are baseless and far from the truth. Last time too Ilyas had contested from Ullal for the post of Ullal block President. I had advised the party not to entertain Ilyas as he was involved anti-social activities. But he contested and lost the elections in Ullal. If he is associated with me he wouldn’t have lost in the elections. People should think before commenting on me.”
When asked about the allegations by Prof M B Puranik that U T Khader and Ramanath Rai are responsible for all the untoward incidents in DK, Khader said, “Prof M B Puranik is an elderly person and I have respect towards him. Being an elderly person he should think before he gives any statements. Instead of blaming us he can ask for clarification. I am ready for any clarification anytime”.
When asked about the allegation by Monappa Bhandary that Deepak’s body was taken from the back door of the hospital to his house, Khader said, “The body was in the hospital and it is the duty of the police department to see that the body reaches home safely. The police have taken the body to Deepak’s house to hand it over to his family members. The DC has given the permission to hold the procession from Deepak’s home to the crematorium. Since there were some untoward incidents reported during the Sharat Madival murder. We did not want to create any problems for the common man. It is the duty of the police department to maintain the law and order situation and they have done their duty by taking the body to Deepak’s house”.
When asked about the allegations by SDPI saying that Pinky Nawaz is a BJP worker, Khader said, “Investigations are on. Once the inquiry is done the truth will come out.”
