Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Announces Master of Library and Information Science Program to Empower Future Professionals
Mangaluru: The Department of Library and Information Science offers a Master’s program in Library and Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc) with an aim to equip students with professional competencies required to work in a wide range of libraries at educational institutions, research and information centers, publishing houses, archives and organisations connected with information products and services.
The M.Lib.I.Sc. program covers core courses, electives, internships, and dissertation work. It is a Two year’s regular postgraduate program with four semesters and a Choice-based Credit System (CBCS). It includes a range of teaching methodology approaches blending theoretical knowledge with practical application to equip future library and information science professionals with the skills and knowledge required for the field. Methods include classroom instruction, seminars; assignment-based learning, hands-on practical training in specialised physical as well as a modern digital library.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have passed any Bachelor’s degree program from a recognised university and have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA scores shall be eligible for admission as per University guidelines issued from time to time. Selection of candidates shall be on a merit basis.
