Youth Injured after Service Bus Hits Ideal Chicken Pickup at Silvergate

Mangaluru: Nowadays reckless driving of the bus drivers put innocent passengers as well as other road users at risk. On July 3 such an incident occurred at Silvergate injuring a delivery boy in a pickup.

The injured has been identified as Vijay (24) from Puttur.

According to eye witnesses, the bus which was coming from Malali to Mangaluru bearing registered number KA 15 9385 was at high speed and trying to overtake another bus at Silvergate. The driver of the bus lost control and hit the pickup. The impact was such that, the pickup hit the wall and rolled to one side.

Locals gathered and took out the delivery boy who was stuck in the pickup out. A woman who was travelling by the same bus got down and took the injured to the hospital for treatment whereas others were just the mute spectators.

Team mangalorean.com informed the police officials immediately about the accident. The locals allege that reckless driving of the bus driver was the cause for the accident.

The traffic police also reached the spot for further investigation.
