Mangaluru: Rifai Murder Accused Assaulted, Condition Critical

Mangaluru: A 30-year-old man was brutally assaulted with machetes at Maripalla here, on December 9.

The injured has been identified as Mada Haneef Sayyed (30), a resident of Perimar. Haneef was rushed to the hospital and his condition is said to be critical.

Haneef was one of the accused in the Rifai murder case and was in jail for 18 months. He was released from the jail twenty days ago.

On December 9, he came to the city along with his brother. His brother dropped him in the city at Maripalla and left. After a few moments, a group of 5 arrived in a car and assaulted Haneef with machetes.
