Mangaluru: St Agnes Special School Student Fardeen to Represent India at Football Game in LA-USA

Mangaluru: Addressing the media persons during the press meet held at Mangalore Press Club, Sr Shruthi AC- the Principal of St Agnes Special School said, ” St. Agnes Special School-Bendore for the differently abled is one of the premier institutions which has brought light and hope in the life of thousands of children with special needs. The school has the history of four decades and is situated in the heart of the city, Bendore and has helped a number of students to excel in sports in the national and as well as international level”.

“So far, this institution has encouraged many students to bring out their best , in events like skating, football, cricket and with pride we say that few of our students have already excelled in the International Special Olympics- to name a few :Hasan Asif – Dublin, Ireland; Dhanraj – Shanghai, China; Anil and Royston at Athens , Greece; and Danon and Thazman at New Castle , Australia. Now, we are happy to announce that yet another student is treading the path of these achievers and is heading to Los Angeles, USA to take part in the football game – Mohammed Fardeen will be representing the Indian Football Team, where they will be playing from July 25th to August 2nd at Los Angeles and Fardeen is the only athlete from Karnataka representing India in the football game” added Sr Shruthi.

While concluding, Sr Shruthi said, “At this juncture we need to encourage Mohammed Fardeen who will be shining in USA in the name of Karnataka and bringing honors to St. Agnes Special School. Shall we pat his back and wish him well through our best wishes and appreciate his efforts? Shall we join along with Government to help him financially and make this trip a joyful and fruitful one for Fardeen and to all those who will take part at Los Angeles, USA”.

Physical Director Narayan, Fardeen’s father CA Farooq and mother Waheeda were also present on the dais during the press meet.

About Mohammed Fardeen :

Mohammed Fardeen, aged 15 is the son of CA Farooq and Waheeda, who had his early schooling at Prestige school where he got training in football game, before joining St Agnes Special School four years back. So far he has attended four football coaching clinics in Haryana, Bengaluru, Gujarath and Chennai, and has also taken part in many football tournaments held at various places in India, wining many medals and laurels for his school and Karnataka state.

He was selected among the students belonging to 136 special schools in Karnataka to represent India in the forthcoming Football Game tournament. as part of Special Olympics to be held in Los Angeles, USA from July 25 till August 2, 2015. He is an efficient football player and has been trained under many coaching clinic in different parts of our country. The Principal of the School and the staff members have played a big role in encouraging this student and along with his parents, the Physical Director of the school Mr. Narayan has trained him tirelessly.
